What will you do?

Registered nurses are a valuable asset to the Navy. Dedicated nursing professionals are an integral component of our modern, full-service hospitals and medical facilities located around the world and at sea. Through leadership and excellence in practice, Navy nurses help shape Navy Medicine, which is known for preeminence in a broad array of medical fields, from health promotion and primary care to highly specialized areas like aerospace medicine. In addition to pay and benefits that meet (and often exceed) civilian standards, the Navy Nurse Corps offers unparalleled diversity in nursing career opportunities. You will learn to provide nursing care to a multitude of patient populations in a variety of environments. Your first duty assignment will usually be in one of many U.S. Naval hospitals, where you will develop the versatile skills necessary to provide comprehensive nursing care in environments ranging from overseas hospitals and clinics to ships or field situations. Moreover, as a Nurse Corps Officer, you will develop as a leader by undertaking critical responsibilities early in your career.
