Educational Opportunities
If you're interested in continuing your education or seeking a higher degree after becoming a Marine officer, there are a variety of advanced and special education programs available to help with tuition and related costs. As all officers have already earned their Bachelors degree, these include the College Degree Program (CDP), Law Education Programs (LEP), Advanced Degree Program (ADP) and Special Education Program (SEP).
This program can be used to help you gain an additional degree in a specific area of undergraduate study.
These programs cover the pursuit of a Law Degree (JD) or a Masters of Law (LLM). The one which is right for you will depend on whether you plan to study while on active duty or extended leave. You may find yourself eligible for both opportunities - the Funded Law Education Program (FLEP) and the Excess Leave Program (ELP-Law).
This post-graduate program allows unrestricted regular officers only to study from a limited number of curriculums at the eligible civilian school of their choice.
This program allows qualified officers to study the subject of their choice at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), the Air Force Institute of Technology, and under some circumstances, civilian institutions.
