The NROTC Program was established to educate and train qualified young men and women for service as commissioned officers in the unrestricted line Naval Reserve or Marine Corps Reserve. As the largest single source of Navy and Marine Corps officers, the NROTC Program plays an important role in preparing mature young men and women for leadership and management positions in an increasingly technical Navy and Marine Corps. The NROTC Unit at Northwestern University is one of the six original units founded in 1926. We have a long history of graduating commissioned officers with strong, well-rounded academic backgrounds from one of the nation's most prestigious universities. These graduates have gone on to have exciting and rewarding careers in both the military and the civilian sector.
