SCREENWRITING CONCENTRATION
CORE
Screenwriting students will focus on the art of creating motion picture scripts. They will learn proper screenplay format as well as the fine points of visual storytelling.
All screenwriting students will take core classes in:
• Camera
• Screenwriting
• Non-Linear Editing
• Digital Animation
They will get one-on-one feedback on their writing from our writing instructor, and gain insight on Story Structure, Dialog, and Visual Story Telling.
ELECTIVES
In addition to the daily core, elective classes will supplement each students’ work. Potential writing electives might include*
• Adaptation
• Feature Film Style
• TV Sitcom Writing
• Writing Alternative Forms
• Improv Comedy
*Electives change from year to year. All of these may not be offered every year
FINAL PROJECTS
Each student will write and potentially produce a short final project.
Formats include:
• TV Sitcom Script
• Short Film Script
• Feature Film Treatment
