PRODUCTION CONCENTRATION

CORE

Production students will focus on the techniques used in the creation and manipulation of motion pictures. They will write, direct and edit their own work, utilizing digital production techniques. Equipment (hardware and software) will include HVX200, 16mmFilm and Final Cut Pro.

All Production students will take core classes in:
• Camera & Lighting
• Digital Animation
• Editing
• Screenwriting

Both core and elective classes give students tremendous opportunity for individual instruction, with a teacher-student ratio of approximately 1:6.

ELECTIVES

In addition to the daily core, elective classes will supplement each students’ work. Potential curriculum topics might include*

• Stop Motion Animation
• Sound Design
• Finishing Strategies
• 3D Modeling and Animation
• Documentary Filmmaking
• Advanced Production Design
• 16mm Film Production
• Directing Actors

FINAL PROJECTS


Each student will write and produce a short final project.
Formats include:
• Narrative Video
• Documentary Video
• Experimental Video

All projects will be fully realized by the individual student with the help of fellow members of the Production concentration.
