Hendel Named Cook Chair


Professor is editor of Rand Journal of Economics, serves on boards of other journals

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Igal Hendel, professor of economics in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, has been named the Ida C. Cook Chair.

He is the recipient of several grants and fellowships, including several National Science Foundation grants. Hendel is the editor of the Rand Journal of Economics and faculty affiliate for the Center for the Study of Industrial Organization. He was previously editor of the International Journal of Industrial Organization. Hendel is on the editorial board of the American Economic Review and served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Economic Literature and the American Economic Journal: Microeconomics. He also has served as associate editor for the Rand Journal of Economics, the International Journal of Industrial Organization and the Journal of Industrial Economics.

Hendel’s research focuses on applied microeconomics in industrial organization.

He joined the Northwestern faculty in 2004.
