Storm Topples Campus Trees
Some of campus's oldest residents came tumbling down
July 14, 2011Monday, July 11, 2011 was a sad day for Northwestern University, as a brief but violent storm uprooted some of the oldest trees on the Evanston campus. Thankfully no one was injured, but wind gusts blew over trees between Kresge Hall and University Library, as well as a few willow trees on the lakefill. In this audio slide show, Tim Spahn, ground services supervisor, discusses the damage and how his team with coped the storm's aftermath.
