June 17, 2011Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences
On Saturday, June 18, 867 students will graduate from the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. Emily Heisley Stoeckel ('87), chairman, The Heico Companies LLC and Heico Holding, Inc., will deliver the convocation address at Ryan Field at 12 p.m.
School of Communication
On Saturday, June 18, 325 students will graduate from the School of Communication. Two convocation ceremonies will be held at 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Pick-Staiger Concert Hall. Joseph Staten, bestselling author and video game designer, best known for developing the story for the Halo game series, will deliver the convocation address.
School of Continuing Studies
On Friday, June 17, more than 300 students graduated from the School of Continuing Studies. Russ Hinz, director of EHR Clinical Adoption & Transformation, Aurora Health Care, will deliver the convocation address at Alice Millar Chapel at 4 p.m
School of Education and Social Policy
On Friday, June 17, 196 students graduated from the School of Education and Social Policy. Gloria Ladson-Billings, the Kellner Family Professor in Urban Education and chair of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, University of Wisconsin-Madison, will deliver the convocation address at Cahn Auditorium at 4 p.m.
McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science
Undergraduate Convocation
On Saturday, June 18, 366 students will graduate from the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science. Gwynne Shotwell, president, SpaceX, will deliver the convocation address at Welsh-Ryan Arena/McGaw Memorial Hall at 8:30 a.m.
Professional Master's Degree Recognition Ceremony
On Friday, June 17, 374 students received their master’s degrees from the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science. Ken Porrello, principal, Deloitte & Touche, will deliver the convocation address at the Ryan Family Auditorium, Technological Institute at 2 p.m.
Ph.D. Hooding and Master's Degree Recognition Ceremony
On Friday, June 17, 118 students received their doctorates from the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science. Barry Nelson, Walter P. Murphy Professor of Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences, Northwestern University, will deliver the keynote address at the Ryan Family Auditorium, Technological Institute at 5 p.m.

Ph.D. and Hooding Ceremony
On Thursday, June 16, 177 students received their doctoral and MFA degrees from the Graduate School at 3 p.m. at Cahn Auditorium.
Medill School of Journalism
On Saturday, June 18, approximately 160 students will graduate from the Medill School of Journalism. Evan Smith (MSJ ’88), Texas Tribune CEO and editor in chief of The Texas Tribune, will deliver the convocation address at Cahn Auditorium at 10:30 a.m.
On Saturday, June 18, 16 students will graduate from the Integrated Marketing Communication (graduate) program. Jim Lecinski, managing director, U.S. Sales & Services, Google, Inc., will deliver the convocation address at the McCormick Tribune Center Forum at 2 p.m.
School of Law
On Friday, May 13, approximately 530 students graduated from the School of Law. (Ret.) U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, a 1947 graduate of the law school, delivered the convocation address at the Chicago Theatre.
Kellogg School of Management
On Friday, June 17, 1,021 full-time and part-time MBA students graduated from the Kellogg School of Management. Doug Conant, (MBA ’76), president & CEO, Campbell Soup Co., will deliver the convocation address at Ryan Field at 5 p.m. Last weekend, 91 students graduated from Kellogg’s Executive MBA Program.
Feinberg School of Medicine
On Thursday, May 19, 174 Feinberg School of Medicine students received their diplomas at the school’s graduation convocation at the Navy Pier Grand Ballroom. Sherwin Nuland, clinical professor of surgery, fellow of the Institution for Social and Policy Studies, Yale School of Medicine, delivered the convocation address.
Bienen School of Music
On Saturday, June 18, 172 students will graduate from the Bienen School of Music. Singer Jessye Norman will deliver the convocation address at the Pick-Staiger Concert Hall at 9 a.m.
