NU Galleria 'One by One'

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Budding and seasoned artists on Northwestern University’s Evanston campus have a convenient and visible outlet for their creative endeavors -- the second annual NU Galleria’s “One by One” Summer Exhibit.
The 2011 collaborative visual arts display of works by Northwestern faculty, staff, students and surrounding community members, opens June 30 and runs through Aug. 19 at Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive. A reception at 3 p.m. Monday, July 11 will celebrate the artists and their works. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
The deadline to reserve up to a 4-by-4-foot wall space, free of charge, is June 23. Reservations must be made in person at ARTica Studios in the Norris Center’s Underground. Photographs, sketches, paintings, prints or wall-mountable installations should be dropped off at ARTica Studios by June 27.
Two prizes will be awarded during the July 11 reception. The first is a “Judge’s Choice” award of a $100 gift card to Dick Blick Art Materials. The second is a “Most Creative Use of Space” award worth $50 at Blick.
NU Galleria is located on the ground floor of Norris Center, between the Paws ‘n Go C-store and the Crepe Bistro. The wall was designated last year for the entire Northwestern community to display their art projects.Display space is available throughout the year.
