Lynn Cohn Named Harry B. Reese Teaching Professor


Scholar specializes in mediation and conflict resolution

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Lynn Cohn, clinical professor and director of the program on negotiations and mediation in the Northwestern University School of Law, has been named the Harry B. Reese Teaching Professor.

Cohn is a nationally recognized mediator. She was a leader in the creation and implementation of the Law School’s unique “Lawyer as a Problem Solver” course for first-year students and serves on the board of directors of the Dispute Resolution Center at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.

She has trained lawyers, real estate professionals, management and union representatives, government employees, community groups and corporate employees in effective negotiation, mediation, conflict management and arbitration techniques. Her clients include the National Association of Realtors, American Airlines, the Illinois Colleges Association, the City of Chicago and LexisNexis.
