Tamer Named Breen Family Term Professor


Researcher connects economic models data

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Elie Tamer, professor of economics in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, has been named the Breen Family Term Professor.

Tamer's work consists of making connections between economic models and data. Director of graduate studies in the department of economics, he has been widely published in top economic journals such as Econometrica and the Journal of Political Economy.

Tamer, whose research currently is supported by the National Science Foundation, is a fellow of the Econometric Society and an HSBC Research Professor in Economics. He is co-editor of Quantitative Economics and associate editor of Econometrica, the Journal of Business and Economics Statistics and Econometrics Journal.

Tamer joined the Northwestern faculty in 2004.
