All Northwestern University students, faculty and staff are invited to a series of "Conversations with the President" this month in which President Morton Schapiro will discuss the state of the university.

On the Evanston campus, the forums will be held April 15 at 2 p.m. in the McCormick Tribune Building Forum and April 16 at 9:30 a.m. in the Great Room, 600 Haven St. On the Chicago campus, the forums will be held April 27 at 2 p.m. in Wieboldt Hall Room 147 and April 28 at 9:30 a.m. in Thorne Auditorium.

The April 15 and April 28 events will be webcast live.

The events are sponsored by the Northwestern University Staff Advisory Council and the Office of the President.

This year's forums will feature remarks by President Schapiro followed by a question-and-answer session. A message from President Schapiro that discusses briefly some key topics likely to come up at the events is available at http://www.northwestern.edu/president/conversations-with-the-president.html

"We're hoping for a somewhat less formal event than was done in previous years with a lot of opportunities for staff, faculty and students to ask questions on topics that are important to them," said Lynn Steiner, chair of NUSAC.

Questions for President Schapiro may be submitted in advance of the forums by e-mailing them to conversations2010@northwestern.edu.

"These events will give me a chance to update you on the state of the university, and equally importantly, they also will give me a chance to listen and learn what's on your mind. So I hope you'll be able to come to one of these opportunities for conversation," President Schapiro said.

Administrative leaders are asked to allow staff members in their area to attend one of the events.
