Touring Doha, Qatar
See the sights of this growing metropolis on the Arabian Gulf. The Northwestern contingent visited the Fanar Islamic Center, the Museum of Islamic Art and the Souk Waqif marketplace while also enjoying a scenic bay cruise at sunset.

People
Approximately 80 members of the Northwestern community traveled to Doha. Students, faculty, staff, trustees and alumni flew across nine time zones and 7,000 miles to visit Qatar.

NU-Q Opening Ceremony
A grand ceremony marked the opening of Northwestern University in Qatar. The formal dinner featured words by several Northwestern officials, including presentations by students and a musical theatre performance.

Touring Al Jazeera Headquarters
Northwestern visitors toured the world headquarters of Al Jazeera, exploring the studios and offices of both the Arabic and English channels.
