Northwestern Law Alumni Meet Corporate, Firm Giving Challenge

By Pat Vaughan Tremmel
CHICAGO – More than 560 Northwestern University School of Law alumni at local and national law firms rose to the school's 2008 Firm & Corporate Alumni Challenge -- raising $518,309 to support the Law School Annual Fund.

Established more than 20 years ago, the challenge is one of the oldest and largest programs of its kind.

One hundred percent participation of Northwestern alumni was achieved at three firms -- Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott LLP, Husch Blackwell Sanders Welsh & Katz Ltd. and Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione.

Seyfarth Shaw LLP
is the leader in giving among firms with 25 or more alumni; Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP topped the list of firms with 16 to 24 alumni; and BP America Inc. is the winner in the corporate category -- placing ahead of eight other companies.

Altogether donors raised more than $2,000,000 for Northwestern Law this year, exceeding the 2008 goal. For more information, visit www.law.northwestern.edu.
