Parking Permit Fee Set For 2008-09 Year

The annual Evanston Campus parking permit for the 2008-09 academic year will be $477.

EVANSTON, Ill. --- The annual Evanston Campus parking permit for the 2008-09 academic year will be $477, a 3.25 percent increase over the current year.

The cost to part-time employees (working 20 hours or less per week) will be $310.50. The daily parking rate will also be increased to $7.

This year's increase will serve to meet increases in administrative costs and help provide funding for the increased cost of the University's shuttle bus system.

The cost of the Ryan Field remote permit will remain at $25. Ryan Field is an alternative for Evanston Campus parkers and those who reside in the walking zone and need parking for their vehicles. It can also serve Chicago Campus employees who live closer to Evanston and ride the intercampus shuttle.

Individuals who purchase a Ryan Field permit are permitted to park in the University's main campus C-lots during the summer term.

Parking renewal applications will be mailed in mid-August. Those with unpaid citations will not receive a new permit until all violations are paid. New permits must be displayed by Oct. 1.
