School of Law Annual Graduation Convocation is May 16


The School of Law will hold its graduation convocation at 1 p.m. Friday, May 16, at the Arie Crown Theater, McCormick Place, Chicago.

CHICAGO --- Northwestern University School of Law will hold its graduation convocation at 1 p.m. Friday, May 16, at the Arie Crown Theater, McCormick Place, 2301 S. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago.

Law school alum and TV show host Jerry Springer and Martin Redish, the Louis and Harriet Ancel Professor of Law and Public Policy, will address graduates, parents, and guests.

Northwestern University President Henry S. Bienen and School of Law Dean David E. Van Zandt also will deliver remarks.

Emily Quick Schriver, president of the Student Bar Association, will present the student-voted awards for excellence in teaching.

The Wigmore Key also will be presented to the graduating student who has done the most to help preserve the traditions of the Law School.

The class of 2008 includes 243 candidates for JD degrees and 22 candidates for joint JD-MBA degrees from the School of Law and the Kellogg School of Management. The class also includes 74 candidates for LLM degrees; 31 candidates for the LLM degree and certificate in business administration from Kellogg; 42 candidates for LLM degrees in taxation; 10 candidates for LLM degrees in international human rights; and five candidates for masters in studies in law.

Others degrees include those in the Executive LLM Program in Seoul (15), Madrid (9) and Tel Aviv (37).
