Fashion expert and Northwestern alumnus Clinton Kelly, co-host of The Learning Channel's popular fashion makeover show "What Not To Wear," will serve as the Grand Marshal for Northwestern's 2007 Homecoming Parade.

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Fashion expert and Northwestern University alumnus Clinton Kelly, co-host of The Learning Channel's popular fashion makeover show "What Not To Wear," will be the star attraction during Northwestern's 2007 Homecoming festivities the weekend of Oct. 12-14. Kelly will serve as the Grand Marshal for the Friday night (Oct. 12) Homecoming Parade.

Kelly, whose popular cable television reality show provides do's and don'ts for the fashion-challenged, creates stylish and flattering looks for various body types, with the help of co-host Stacy London. He received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern's Medill School in 1993. Kelly will be among the thousands of Northwestern alumni visiting the Evanston campus because Oct. 12-14 also is Reunion Weekend for the classes of 1962, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997 and 2002.

Prior to joining "What Not to Wear" four years ago, Kelly honed his fashion sensibilities and expertise with his tenure as a magazine editor for several noted publications. He served as the executive editor of DNR, a weekly national magazine for the men's fashion and retail trade. Before that, he was deputy editor of Mademoiselle magazine and a contributing editor at Marie Claire.

Northwestern's 2007 Homecoming Parade begins at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at the intersection of Sheridan Road and Chicago Avenue, and proceeds north on Sheridan Road to Lincoln Street.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, there will be limited access into and from Northwestern's Evanston campus prior and during Northwestern's Homecoming Parade. Access to all lots and drives east of Sheridan Road will be closed until the parade ends at approximately 9:30 p.m. Lincoln Street will remain open to westbound traffic until the parade reaches the street, after which, it will be closed until the parade ends.

Other Homecoming events that are open to the public include the Friday night pre-parade Homecoming concert and pep rally and the Saturday football game.

• During the 7 p.m. Friday Homecoming Concert and Pep Rally at Cahn Auditorium, 600 Emerson St., the Wildcat Marching Band will perform pre-game, half-time and Ryan Field favorites. The program also features appearances by the Northwestern Ladycats dance team, cheerleaders, Willie the mascot and Wildcats Football Coach Pat Fitzgerald. Admission is free.

• The 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, Homecoming Game between the Northwestern Wildcats and the Minnesota Golden Gophers will be held at Ryan Field. Tickets for reserved seats in the west and east stands are $50; end zone tickets are $30 for the general public and $25 for students with IDs. Corner (section 113) seats for groups of 50 or more are $25 each. The ticket office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
