To the Northwestern community:

Yesterday’s events on the campus of Virginia Tech are a cause for sadness at all colleges and universities. Our deepest condolences go to the families and friends of all of the victims of yesterday’s tragedies and to the entire Virginia Tech community.

I want to remind you that counseling is available to Northwestern students, faculty and staff. Students should contact the University’s Counseling and Psychological Service. CAPS may be reached at 847-491-2151 during normal business hours and at 847-491-8100 after hours.  Faculty and staff should contact Perspectives, the faculty/staff assistance program, at 630-932-8008 or 800-456-6327. The counselors will assist in helping individuals and groups who are grieving or in shock.

Again, this tragic event affects all of us on college and university campuses across the country. Our thoughts and prayers are with our colleagues in Virginia and all those families touched by this event.
