Radulescu Receives Poetry Grand Prize

Stella Vinitchi Radulescu, lecturer of French and Italian at the Northwestern University Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, has received the grand prize for free verse poetry in the 2006 International French Language Poetry Competition.

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Stella Vinitchi Radulescu, lecturer of French and Italian at the Northwestern University Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, has received the grand prize for free verse poetry in the 2006 International French Language Poetry Competition. She accepted the prize in Paris Dec. 16.

Radulescu was born in Romania where she earned a Ph.D. in French and began her literary career. She has published poetry in a variety of literary magazines in Romania, France, Belgium, Luxembourg and United States.

Her work has appeared in SHADE Anthology 2006, Louisville Review, Plainsongs Review, Seneca Review, Chiron Review, Spout Magazine, Sulphur River Review, Visions, California Quarterly, Poésie sur Seine, Les Cahiers du Sens, Inédit Nouveau and Cahiers de Poésie.

Radulescu is the author of several collections of poetry published in Romania and four collections published in the U.S, including “My Dream Has Red Fingers” (2000), “From Heaven With Love” (2003) and “Self Portrait in Blue” (2004).
