Information Technology has announced the release of the Microsoft Employee Select Program. This program provides faculty and staff with the opportunity to purchase Microsoft software for personal use at deeply discounted prices.
The Microsoft Employee Select Program is an extension of the existing site-licensing program that provides Microsoft software for University business and student personal use. With the introduction of Microsoft Employee Select, Northwestern has retired its “Work at Home” software purchase program.
Available software titles and initial prices include: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Upgrade, $69.80; Microsoft Office 2003 Professional, $69.05; Microsoft Office 2003 Standard, $59.80; and Microsoft Office 2004 Standard for Macintosh, $59.00.
Each product includes one license and one media kit. The license permits the user to install the product on one computer. The media kit bundled with the license is protected with Microsoft’s Office Registration Wizard (ORW). The ORW technology allows the user to install the product up to two times on a single computer.
