Pipe Replacement Will Close Sheridan Road Sidewalk

The steam and condensate piping replacement for the west side of Sheridan Road will start June 20 and be completed Sept. 2.

The piping to be replaced is located under the sidewalk at 1838 Chicago Ave. and extends to the northwest corner of Foster and Sheridan. From June 20 to Sept. 2, the sidewalk on the west side of Sheridan Road from 1838 Chicago up to Foster Street will be closed.

Pedestrian crossing will be maintained at Foster and Sheridan, 1838 Chicago, the intersection light at Sheridan by Scott Hall and at the southwest corner of Foster and Sheridan.

The work will also include coring under Sheridan Road at the northwest corner of Emerson Street to the east side of Sheridan.  The small houses along Sheridan will be accessible from the west entrance of each building or by entering the property from the west side. All affected houses will be contacted to discuss the impact this project will have on their particular house, according to Facilities Management.

Questions about this project should be directed to Facilities Management at 1-5201.
