Northwestern Provides Flu Vaccine to City of Evanston

Northwestern University will reallocate flu vaccine from the University’s health service to the City of Evanston at cost to help alleviate the shortage of the vaccine this year.

Working with the city’s health department and following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, 500 doses of flu vaccine will be provided to the City of Evanston Department of Health and Human Services.

“Northwestern University is trying to do its part in confronting the shortage of the flu vaccine nationwide and in the process demonstrating its commitment to the surrounding community,” said Donald A. Misch, executive director, Northwestern University Health Service.

Those health agencies fortunate enough to receive flu vaccine this year are complying with CDC guidelines and targeting their vaccine to high-risk patients.
