in the Basic Sciences

The Basic Sciences Division of the cancer center is one of three major divisions in the Cancer Center. The Clinical Research Division is led by Dr. Leo Gordon and includes programs in Breast Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Hematological Malignancy, and Pediatric Oncology. Dr. David Cella leads the third division in Cancer Prevention and Control. Together, the three research divisions of the Cancer Center engage in activities that impact our fund of knowledge about fundamental cell processes as well as to apply these basic advances to the prevention of cancer, treatment of patients, and surveillence diagnostics for survivors. Cancer Center activities are planned to provide maximum interactions between the three groups and we encourage your participation in many of these events.
