LGBT Resource Center
In 2000, the first Safe Space training was offered by the LGBT Support Network (currently known as the LGBTQA Campus Advisory Network). Later this group collaborated with students to advocate for an LGBT Resource Center and a staff position. As a result of these efforts and with the support of Student Affairs administration, 2004 saw the LGBT Resource Center open its doors with two co-coordinators who worked six hours a week. In 2006, a new position was created in the Center for Student Involvement, the Coordinator for the LGBT Resource Center and Social Justice Organizations. The part-time Coordinator position for the LGBT Resource Center became a full-time Director position in July 2012 and was reorganized to operate under the umbrella of Multicultural Student Affairs.
