Multilayer structures consisting of alternating perovskite and magnetite blocks were studied, as candidates for ferroic (mixed Ferrimagnetic and Ferroelectric) applications and devices. The desirability of doping the interface region between distinct crystal structures (distorted cubic perovskite vs. inverse spinel) was investigated, as a means of inducing stable interfaces with good cohesion, and as a means of extending the magnetic field from the ferrimagnet into the perovskite phase.
