Our Two Houses

Multicultural Student Affairs has two houses: The House at 1914 Sheridan and the Multicultural Center (MCC) at 1936 Sheridan. The House, or the Black House, is the home of African American Student Affairs while the MCC is the home of Asian/Asian American Student Affairs and Hispanic/Latino Student Affairs.

Open to everyone, our two houses are places where students come to socialize, study, have meetings, and host events. For many students, our two houses are "homes away from home" and create a sense of belonging that may not be found anywhere else on campus. In addition, approximately 70 student groups call our houses home as well.

Resources and Amenities

Both of our houses offer a variety of resources and amenities open to all students and student groups, including:

  • Rooms of various sizes to socialize, study, and meet
  • Comfortable furniture
  • Copy machines
  • Fax machines
  • TV lounges
  • Computer labs
  • Resource rooms
  • Bulletin boards with postings and announcements
  • Kitchen space (half- and full-sizes)
  • Storage (for student groups only)
