Since Pat Goss (WCAS92) arrived as Northwestern’s men’s golf head coach in 1997, the team has won four Big Ten titles. That success has translated to impressive pro results for Goss’ past pupils. In 2012 four different former Wildcat golfers won tournaments on their respective pro tours. Luke Donald (WCAS01) earned his fifth career PGA Tour victory in March when he won a four-man playoff at the Transitions Championship. The England native (see "Swing Time," spring 2012) also won his seventh career victory on the European Tour, winning the BMW PGA Championship in May by four strokes, and then helped Europe to a dramatic win at the Ryder Cup at Medinah Country Club in Illinois. David Lipsky (WCAS11) won the first tournament of his career on the Asian Tour in a playoff at the Handa Faldo Cambodian Classic in March. Chris Wilson (C07) won in a playoff over Scott Harrington (C03) at the Price Cutter Charity Championship on the Web.com Tour, the PGA’s developmental tour. Dillon Dougherty (WCAS06) of the National Pro Golf Tour won the LA Open in March.
