Marilyn Moats Kennedy (J65, GJ66) presented "Changing Jobs: Move or Consequences" during the Council of One Hundred's fall student and young alumni program Sept. 27 at the Robert H. Lurie Medical Research Center. The Council of One Hundred will host its spring meeting April 16-17 on the Evanston campus.

At the NAA's Leadership Symposium in September, NUGALA (Northwestern University Gay and Lesbian Alumni) received special recognition for its national effort to mobilize members outside of Chicago. The club's fall calendar included a Homecoming bash at Mary's Attic. Last spring NUGALA launched a scholarship drive to recognize and support active student leaders in the Northwestern LGBT community. Since announcing the scholarship, NUGALA has raised nearly half of its $50,000 goal for the creation of the endowment.

On Aug. 25 members of NUEA-West (Northwestern University Entertainment Alliance) along with the NU Club of Los Angeles hosted a beach cleanup. Alumni gathered utensils, Styrofoam and cigarette butts among other items along the shore of Zuma Beach in Malibu. Kirsten James (WCAS00) helped coordinate guest speakers from the Surfrider Foundation and Heal the Bay. The cleanup outing concluded with a wine-tasting in Malibu. In October NU Club of Los Angeles members spent a day building houses for Habitat for Humanity.
