Savoring September

Fall Reunion Weekend 2005

What better way to savor the spirit of September than coming back to campus with your closest college friends?

Approximately 2,000 alumni and family members got a fresh look at the University while reliving their favorite Northwestern memories at the Northwestern Alumni Association's Fall Reunion Weekend 2005, Sept. 23–25.

There was plenty of excitement for everyone. From the lively Meadow Madness tent party and colorful fireworks display that lit up the lakefront Friday night to Sunday's Chicago activities at the House of Blues and Wrigley Field and on the Chicago Architectural River Cruise, the weekend provided opportunities to reconnect with old friends and make great memories with new ones.

Of course a visit to Northwestern would not be complete without educational enrichment. President Henry S. Bienen discussed foreign policy, distinguished faculty and alumni shared their insights into sports journalism, media affairs and a variety of other current topics, and career workshops helped alumni plan the next step in their professional lives.

And as a way of showing their gratitude to their alma mater, this year's reunion classes raised more than $10 million in class gifts, the largest coming from the class of 1965.
