Zeke Markshausen

Hometown: Capron, Ill.

Major: Mechanical engineering, currently working on a master's in engineering design and innovation

Key Ingredient: Wildcat wide receiver hopes to engineer a career in the NFL

Turning point in your Northwestern football career: Before last season I started to focus on playing football for more than impressing fans or impressing ESPN. That made this last season really special for me and gave me the opportunity to pursue the NFL. I started playing with more of a purpose.

Most memorable game as a Wildcat: The Outback Bowl was amazing. That was the craziest and the best game I have ever played in, coming back like that — play after play with the game on the line. That's the kind of game you dream about playing in.

One of your proudest accomplishments: Making Academic All-American. That really reinforces one of the reasons I came to Northwestern, because I wanted to be pushed to the limit academically.
