Adah Straus Jaffer (Mu35) of Miami remains active by playing the horn. Early in her career she taught band and orchestra for high schools in Hampton and Fredericksburg, Va.

Lucille Cohn Pianfetti (WCAS35) of Charleston, W.Va., remains devoted to causes from recycling to civil rights at 93 years of age. She plans to return to Chicago to live with her 100-year-old sister. She served as a social worker during the Great Depression and advocated for social justice, including a 10-year battle in the 1940s to permit women on juries.

George E. Biringer (CB36) of Sullivan, Ill., at 95 lives at the Illinois Masonic Home with his wife, Edna. They enjoy the recreation and 24-hour medical care provided by the home.

Albert “Ollie” Adelman (C37) and Edith “Edie” Margoles Adelman (WCAS37) of Fox Point, Wis., received the 2006 Wright Spirit Award in September 2006 from the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy for their efforts in stewardship of Wright buildings. The Adelmans, who live in a Wright-designed home, were recognized for their willingness to share the story of their house with architects, students and Wright enthusiasts and for their contribution of Wright drawings, letters and designs to the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Ed Klamm (WCAS38) of Lake Barrington, Ill., has been an active volunteer with Veterans of Foreign Wars and Hospice of Northeastern Illinois since his wife, Kay, died in 2001. He attended the Half Century Club luncheon in June 2006 with four members of the class of 1938, and he encourages other members of his class to attend in June. Each spring he travels abroad with his daughter, Christine Klamm Kelly (WCAS69), and her family. They are scheduled to visit southern France this year.
