Blake Bowden (WCAS90) of Cincinnati, a clinical psychologist and playwright who works with inner-city preschoolers participating in Head Start, was named a member of the city’s “creative class” by Cincinnati magazine. He also is managing director of Clear Stage Cincinnati, a theater company that promotes new talent in the area.

Martha A. Bozeman (C90) of Orlando, Fla., is a social worker at Park Place Behavioral Healthcare in Kissimmee, Fla., working with the mentally ill.

Thomas R. Carpenter (C90) of Brooklyn is national director of news and broadcast at American Federation of Television and Radio Artists in New York. He spoke to the Federal Communications Commission in January about media ownership regulations. He spoke at another FCC forum at Northwestern University School of Law in April.

Andrea C. Clark (C90) of Columbus, Ohio, is a catalog librarian at Capital University.

Donald A. Daugherty (L90) of River Hills, Wis., joined the litigation practice at Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek law firm in Milwaukee in June and is on the health-care and information technology teams. He was formerly a partner at Michael Best & Friedrich in Milwaukee.

Steven C. Dillingham (KSM90) of Montclair, N.J., founded Strategro International, a marketing and business growth consultancy that assists companies entering the North American market.

Aparna Joshi (WCAS90, FSM94) and her husband, Krishnan Anantharaman (J91), live in West Bloomfield, Mich. She is a radiologist at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, and he is managing editor for the Wall Street Journal classroom edition.

John J. Kauffman (KSM90) of Darien, Conn., was named president of Northern Trust Bank in New York in May and oversees the greater New York area. He earlier was at Goldman, Sachs in Chicago and New York City.

Scott A. Keschner (WCAS90) of Dix Hills, N.Y., an anesthesiologist with North American Partners in Anesthesia, practices at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y.

Vivek Prachand (WCAS90, FSM94) of Chicago is an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Chicago specializing in minimally invasive surgery. He completed a residency in general surgery at Washington University in St. Louis in 2001. He and his wife, Shalini Reddy, have 1-year-old twin daughters, Sejal and Anjali.

Howard Wasserman (J90, L97) of Miami is an assistant professor at Florida International University College of Law.

Bryn Dessent Zbyszewski (C90) of Los Angeles is manager of feature postproduction at 20th Century Fox.

Russell Bailenson (WCAS91) of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is vice president of investments, international sales, for Ryan Beck & Co. in New York. He completed the Vancouver International Marathon in May as part of a team raising more than $5,500 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Leigh Barker (WCAS91) of Englewood, N.J., head coach of Tenafly High School’s girls spring track and an American history teacher, was named “Coach of the Year” by the spring track coaches in Bergen County. The track team captured the league title in her third year as head coach.

Sarah Huck Bilthuis (SESP91) of Highlands Ranch, Colo., is a family practice resident physician at Rose Medical Center in Denver. She earned a medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2002.

Jonathan Gary (WCAS91) of Imperial Beach, Calif., is a senior research scientist at Biosite in San Diego.

Kristin Dunlap Godsey (C91, GJ95) of Cincinnati has been named editor-in-chief of Writer’s Digest magazine.

Helen M. Harnett (WCAS91) of Kalamazoo, Mich., is an attorney at Farmworker Legal Services in Bangor, Mich., focusing on poverty law and civil rights issues.

Denise Lieberman (J91) of St. Louis is legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Eastern Missouri and an adjunct professor of political science at Washington University. She also chairs the Individual Rights Committee of the St. Louis Bar Association.

Darren McDaniel (C91) of Orlando, Fla., is producer, director and writer for The Essence of Irwin, which was filmed the past year. The movie portrays life in a small Texas town.

Belén Pedregal (G91) of Seville, Spain, an assistant professor at the human geography department of the University of Seville, teaches geographical information systems and collaborates on projects related to water management and planning. She received a doctorate in geography from the University of Seville in January.

Amy Vernon (J91) of Elizabeth, N.J., is metro editor of the Rockland edition of the Journal News, which covers New York City’s northern suburbs.

David Wiechers (KSM91) of Lake Bluff, Ill., a board-certified specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation, became medical director of UnitedHealthcare in Chicago in June. He worked as a health care consultant for the past eight years and also with APM/Computer Sciences Corp.

Roy M. Tan Alojado (McC92) of Manhattan Beach, Calif., is an associate brand manager for Hot Wheels at Mattel in El Segundo, Calif. He received an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California in 2002.

Afshin Keyvanshad (WCAS92) of Chicago was named a partner at Sidley Austin Brown & Wood law firm in July. He practices primarily in insurance and financial transactions.

Cindy Brown Klipfel (WCAS92) of Providence returned to Rhode Island with her husband, Adam, and daughters Abigail, Madeline and Olivia to be near family. She is currently an at-home mom but will return to her pediatrics practice next year.

Shira Levine (WCAS92, KSM99) of San Francisco traveled to Peru with friend Adam Hirschfelder (WCAS92) of Washington, D.C., as part of a delegation from the American Jewish World Service (AJWS) in May. They visited two nongovernmental organizations, Pro Mujer in the Andean village of Pano and Minga in the Amazon. During the trip she accepted a position on the AJWS national board.

Sari Makofsky McConnell (WCAS92, KSM98) of San Francisco is vice president of product development and marketing at Tambourine, a music record company that develops CD compilations for chain retailers and brands worldwide.

Elizabeth A. Meister (C92, GC92) of Chicago established Long Haul Productions, a two-person independent company that produces documentaries and oral histories for National Public Radio. In June she and her husband and partner, Dan Collison, received an Edward R. Murrow National Award for their documentary “The House of Pain,” about residents in a condemned Chicago Housing Authority high-rise.

Darren Morrison (WCAS92) of Chicago is principal of Nevis Group, a strategy consultancy. His fiancée, Niki Nordstrom (C94), of Chicago, is director of Carol Fox and Associates, a marketing and public relations agency specializing in the arts.

Mai Lin Petrine Noffke (SESP92) of Glenview, Ill., became director of program review at Northwestern University in 2002. She had been an attorney at Lord, Bissell & Brook in Chicago. Her husband, Timothy J. Noffke (McC92), is director of business segment operations at Integrated Project Management in Burr Ridge, Ill.

Robert Nowakowski (McC92) of San Diego was named staff engineer for the quality engineering department at Qualcomm.

Joshua Weinberg (WCAS92) of Bethesda, Md., is vice president of newsPRos, a public relations and strategic communications firm in Washington, D.C.

Jane Koopman White (J92, GJ95) of Rowley, Mass., is director of marketing for MaidPro, a housecleaning services franchise, and its affiliate Insight Direct.

Keith Burton (WCAS93) of Tucson is a postdoctoral fellow at the department of psychology at the University of Arizona, from which he earned a doctorate in psychology in April.

Michael Elyanow (GC93) of Chicago is a lecturer in Northwestern’s radio/television/film department and wrote the play The Idiot Box, which was presented by the Naked Eye Theatre Company in Chicago in May. The production involved alumni Geoff Barr (WCAS87) of Chicago, managing director; Lara Dieckmann (C91, GC93, 97) of Pasadena, Calif., artistic associate; Mikhael Garver (C00) of Reston, Va., assistant director; and Sarah Gubbins (C97) of Chicago, dramaturg/literary manager.

Heidi Santner Freeman (WCAS93) of McLean, Va., is a science teacher at Madeira School.

Roxanna Beatty Goebel (WCAS93) of Oak Brook, Ill., is a member of the auxiliary board of the Art Institute of Chicago and serves on the board of directors of the Woman’s Athletic Club of Chicago. She and her husband, Matt (GJ97), have two children.

Denise Holland (C93) of Bloomington, Minn., earned an MBA degree from Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in 2002.

Sarah Rice Johnson (J93) of Grand Junction, Colo., is a family therapist at the Family Tree Alternative Middle School. Her husband, Michael D. (WCAS93), is a neurotrauma nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center.

David P. O’Donnell (C93) of Chicago is attending graduate school in urban planning/design at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His wife is Jessica Thebus (GC91, 97).

Kenneth E. Piner (GJ93) of Arlington, Va., in April was named staff associate, special projects, in the General Counsel’s Office at the nonprofit Public Company Accounting Oversight Board in Washington, D.C.

Gabriella Santinelli (C93) of London performed in the world premiere of Jerry Springer the Opera at the National Theatre. It opened in April and continued at the West End Theater this fall.

Marya A. Savola (WCAS93) of Chicago became assistant vice president of business banking at Bank One in March.

Sandy Watson (C93) of Los Angeles is the co-founder and president of IWT Productions, which produced the “I Wrote That!” children’s video/DVD series based on works written or drawn by children.

Jennifer (Yuet-Yan) Chou (GMu94) of Paris was a laureate in the sixth International Organ Competition in memory of the French organist André Marchal in Biarritz, France, in April. Her program of works by de Grigny, Eben and Alain received an honorable mention.

Devon Dudgeon (C94) of London is an account director for Brierley Europe, managing the Hertz Europe account. She performed in the Chicago Improv Extravaganza at London’s Soho Theatre in May.

Christine Elbert (KSM94) of New York City is a corporate strategist at Rochdale Investment Management.

Elena E. Espinoza (WCAS94) of Chicago is court interpreter for Cook County and a freelance Spanish and French translator. She earned a master’s degree in English from the University of Illinois in 1998 and taught at the University of Illinois at Chicago until 2001.

Jessica Zoller Kaplan (J94) of Evanston is the line producer for WTTW-TV’s Chicago Tonight. She received a Peter Lisagor Award for Exemplary Journalism in April for the documentary “Chicago Tonight: The Choice for Governor.”

Amanda Pryor McGuire (WCAS94) of Durham, N.C., is helping develop the usability practice at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, and her husband, Paul McGuire (WCAS94), is training to be a network administrator.

Isabella W. Ng (McC94) of Hong Kong is a partner at Niceright Consulting specializing in human rights services for South Asia and the greater China region.

Stephanie Larson Price (WCAS94) of Brookline, Mass., is a stay-at-home mom. Her husband, Mark (McC94), began a residency in orthopedic surgery at Harvard last summer after graduating from Harvard/MIT’s combined medical and doctoral program.

Scott Riewald (G94, 02) of Colorado Springs was named administrator of sport science for the USA Tennis High-Performance Coaching Education staff in Key Biscayne, Fla., by the U.S. Tennis Association in June. He had been educational programs coordinator for the National Strength and Conditioning Association in Colorado Springs.

Shannon Ryan Wallace (WCAS94) of Glencoe, Ill., joined the management development program at Abbott Laboratories in Abbott Park, Ill., after graduating from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business in 2002.

Cameron Williams (KSM94) of Plano, Texas, is senior associate in performance improvement practice at the Dallas office of AlixPartners, an international performance improvement and financial advisory firm based in Southfield, Mich.

Lisa Clingan-Cruz (C95) of Chicago was promoted from senior designer to design director at ABC 7, WLS-TV, in January.

Jillian M. Eichel (WCAS95) of Chicago is a psychotherapist and case manager for the Mental Illness Substance Abuse program at the Josselyn Center in Northfield, Ill. She helped the training, editing and marketing team that compiled the book There Must Be More Than This: Finding More Life, Love and Meaning by Overcoming Your Soft Addictions (Broadway Books, 2003).

Gina Gibbs Foster (J95) of Washington, D.C., became government relations manager at Dow Chemical Company in 2002.

Angelo Georgakis (WCAS95) of Encinitas, Calif., is an assistant professor of Russian history at Westmont College in Santa Barbara. He received a doctorate in history from the University of Minnesota in August.

Naomi S. Less (C95) of New York City is a senior program officer for the Foundation for Jewish Camping. She also fronts a blues-rock band, Less Nessman, and performs nationally with Storahtelling.org, a Jewish ritual-theater company.

Diane Littlefield-Lanham (SESP95) of Brookfield, Ill., social science teacher at Maine West High School in Des Plaines, Ill., developed the interdisciplinary course European Studies. Last summer she received a fellowship for a National Endowment for the Humanities seminar in Nottingham, England.

Michael McNamara (GC95) of Tucson became assistant professor of lighting design at the University of Arizona after eight years as assistant lighting designer with the Washington Opera in Washington, D.C. This past summer he assisted at the Royal Opera in London with the Franco Zeffirelli production of Pagliacci and conducted performances by Placido Domingo.

Peter M. Schreck (WCAS95) of West Bloomfield, Mich., became an associate at Freeman, Cotton and Norris law firm in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., in June. He earned a law degree from Denver University College of Law in 2001. He speaks German and Mandarin.

Mark L. Tomkins (WCAS95) of Palatine, Ill., is vice president at Global Strategy in Libertyville, Ill., an international consulting firm specializing in strategic partnering and international business development.

Bryan Weiler (WCAS95) of Madison, Wis., has begun a doctoral program in Hispanic studies at the University of Wisconsin. He earned a master of arts degree in Spanish at Loyola University Chicago in May and worked as an immigration officer in Chicago last summer.

Susan Krendl Armstrong (C96) of Marietta, Ga., is a global commodity leader in logistics digitization at GE Power Systems in Atlanta.

Jeffrey Calcott Imerman (J96) of Durham, N.C., interned last summer at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New York (Southern District). He is a second-year law student at Duke University.

Ryan Nelson (WCAS96) of Philadelphia last summer began studies in the MBA program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.

Elizabeth Birch Weatherly (J96) of Washington, D.C., is director of development at KIPP DC: Key Academy, a public charter middle school on Capitol Hill.

Jason Wendland (SESP96) of Jersey City, N.J., is an options trader with Prime International Trading. His fiancée, Kristen Snyder (C97), a producer for Major League Baseball in New York, has earned two Emmys and a Peabody Award.

Melinda Levinson Zalma (McC96) of New York was ordained a rabbi at the Jewish Theological Seminary in May and plans to enter the Naval Reserve as a chaplain.

Audley C. Chambers (GMu97) of Huntsville, Ala., associate professor of music history and literature at Oakwood College, received the Excellence in Teaching Award at Oakwood’s commencement in May. He is also a teaching and technology mentor for the faculty.

John A. Damergis Jr. (WCAS97, G99) of Minneapolis graduated in June from Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago and began a residency program in neurology at the University of Minnesota.

Angelina Drnek (C97) of Des Plaines, Ill., is the marketing manager for NPD Group in Rosemont, Ill.

Eli J. Finkel (WCAS97) of Evanston returned to Northwestern as an assistant professor in the psychology department in July.

Emily Anderson Greene (WCAS97) of Bethesda, Md., and her husband, Lorne, co-founded Viva Productions, a video and event production company, and released the workout DVD Body to Go for business travelers. She also wrote What, No Meat? What to Do When Your Kid Becomes a Vegetarian (ECW Press, 2003).

Vanessa C. Martin (J97) of Denver is media relations coordinator for the Mountain States regional office of the Anti-Defamation League. She also is the resident manager of a transitional living program for teen moms and a freelance writer for several newspapers.

Marvin McAllister (GC97) of Washington, D.C., formerly assistant professor at Hunter College and the City University of New York Graduate Center, authored White People Do Not Know How to Behave at Entertainments Designed for Ladies and Gentlemen of Colour: William Brown’s African and American Theater (North Carolina Press, 2003).

Robert S. Sevim (WCAS97) of Chicago was named associate director of Insignia/ESG in May with responsibilities in commercial real estate services. He is also pursuing an MBA at the University of Chicago.

William H. Wagener (J97) of Jersey City, N.J., became a litigation associate at the New York law firm Sullivan and Cromwell in September after graduating magna cum laude from New York University School of Law. As articles editor on the law review and editor-in-chief of NYU’s Commentator, he won the American Bar Association’s award for best feature article in a law student newspaper for coverage of the Sept. 11 attacks. His wife, Nicole Aaron Wagener (Mu97), is pursuing an operatic career in New York.

Laini Wolman (J97) of Dallas is the donor services associate for the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation. She is involved in processing grant funds and related operations.

Christine Bielinski (J98) of Atlanta was named senior writer for Cartoon Network New Media in Atlanta in May.

Martin Gregory (J98) of Los Gatos, Calif., graduated from the University of California’s Hastings College of Law in May. In September he started as a law clerk for the Seventh Judicial District Court in Nevada.

Robert Horton (GMu98) of Glencoe, Ill., was a laureate in the sixth International Organ Competition in memory of the French organist André Marchal in Biarritz, France, in April. He performed César Franck’s Priere, op. 20, and was the first American to win the Prix Jacqueline Englert-Marchal.

Kyle B. Kamin (WCAS98) of Chicago was promoted to director at Insignia/ESG in May after serving as associate director. He specializes in tenant representation and real estate assignments for law firms.

Peter Lehman (J98, SESP98) of Chicago is founder and president of Lehman Racing, a drag racing team. He placed sixth in the 2003 National Hot Rod Association race in Houston in April in partnership with Chicago-based sponsor Gold Eagle Company.

Arlene C. Molino (WCAS98) of Chicago graduated from Duke University Medical School in Durham, N.C., in May. In 2002 she earned a master’s degree in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She will begin a residency in dermatology at the University of Chicago in July 2004.

Emily B. Nichols (WCAS98) of Boston is manager of college counseling at College Coach in Newton, Mass., an educational consulting firm.

Siddharth A. Padia (WCAS98) of Honolulu began his residency at the University of Hawaii Hospital in Honolulu in July after graduating from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Erin M. Stone (WCAS98) of Springfield, Ill., in July began an obstetrics and gynecology residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield after earning a medical degree from SIU in May.

Wes Thompson (GJ98) of Chicago became vice president, marketing analytics, in the training management support services group of ABN AMRO, LaSalle Bank, last spring.

Scott Dorsey (KSM99) of Indianapolis received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in June for contributions to ExactTarget, the permission-based e-mail marketing company he founded and heads.

Michael J. Gottlieb (WCAS99) of Manhattan Beach, Calif., graduated from Harvard Law School in June and began clerking for Judge Stephen Reinhardt of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco in August. He will be one of Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens’ four clerks for the 2004–05 term.

Chad Hodge (C99) of Los Angeles, a movie producer, wrote This Time Around, an ABC Family TV movie that premiered on June 22. He also produced a series for Fox TV, Tru Calling, which aired this fall.

Matthew T. Hurst (L99) of Chicago joined the law offices of McGuire Woods as an associate in the commercial litigation department in May. He focuses on class action litigation, complex commercial litigation and product liability.

Justin McKinley (C99) of Hollywood, Calif., is senior editor for America Online’s Los Angeles and Orange County guides.

Daryl Morey (McC96) of Natick, Mass., is vice president of operations and information for the Boston Celtics and has been a consultant for STATS, the supplier of sports statistics, projecting the careers of major and minor league players.

Jeffrey Schlaudecker (C99) and his wife, Elizabeth, of Cincinnati returned from two months of work in a rural hospital in Kenya. They are both fourth-year medical students at the University of Cincinnati.

Mark E. Strickland (L99) of Fountain Hills, Ariz., joined the Phoenix law firm Brown & Bain in November 2002 after clerking for Judge Richard Linn of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in 2001–02.

Danyale Wallace (WCAS99) of Chicago is serving a residency in emergency medicine at the John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County after graduating from Rush Medical College in Chicago in June.
