1930s

Alfredo P. Acierto (SESP30) of Chicago, a retired U.S. Postal Service employee, celebrated his 101st birthday Oct. 30, 2004. He and his wife of 59 years, Maria, enjoy their three children, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He cherishes his memories of Northwestern.

Florence Rabin Stern (WCAS34) of Beachwood, Ohio, celebrated her 91st birthday with her sense of humor intact and her Scrabble scores as high as ever. She enjoys spending time with her daughter, her grandson and her granddaughters and their husbands and is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandchild.

Evelyn Leef Reiffel (SESP36, GSESP37) of Chicago remains active in the business world, selling antique railroad dining car silverware, mostly on eBay.

Ina Wolf Rosenblatt (SESP36) of Skokie, Ill., wrote a self-published novella, Four Daughters and Not One Son (2004), based on her memoirs. The book is in circulation at the Skokie Public Library.

Robert Walker (J36, GJ41) of Carol Stream, Ill., a journalist, received a Visionary Industry Pioneer award in June 2004 at the 2004 Christian Booksellers Association international convention. Walker founded Christian Bookseller and Christian Retailing and launched Christian Life magazine, now part of Charisma magazine. He also established Creation House Books and was instrumental in the formation of the CBA.
