Class Notes

1940s

Eva Fink Glassner (SESP42) of Roanoke, Va., a retired teacher, met her late husband, Myron, at a Northwestern basketball game 58 years ago. Her sons, Barry (J74) and Jonathan Glassner (S83), followed the family tradition by attending Northwestern.

Roger M. Hehn (D45) of Jacksonville, Fla., is a staff doctor at University Medical Center of Jacksonville and clinical professor of maxillofacial surgery at the University of Florida Health Science Center. He received the Community Service Award of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons last September for his missions to Ometepec, Mexico, to treat cleft lip and palate conditions.

Harriette Rhawn Behringer (J47) of Philadelphia, a journalist with the Philadelphia City Paper, did a cover story detailing a human rights group's findings of the Dutch government's soft drug policy, prison drug rehab programs and red light district regulation. She also is children's books editor for the paper.

Charles Clarke (Mu48) of Hesperia, Calif., is an organist and choirmaster for St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Apple Valley, Calif. He has had an extensive career as an organist in many cities in the United States and Germany.

Audrey Perlman Lavin (WCAS49) of Canton, Ohio, is a writer. She published her third book, a compilation entitled Made in Ohio: Poetry and Prose (Creative Works Publishing, 2000). The book includes "I Learn English?," a piece she wrote based on her two teaching stints in Vladivostok, Russia.
