2000s

Yvonne Fong (KSM00) of Discovery Bay, Hong Kong, is pursuing a career as a barrister after completing her legal studies and obtaining a postgraduate certificate in laws, with distinction, from the University of Hong Kong.

Jenna Hastings (C00) of Chicago, an actor, is an active artistic associate with Uma Productions, a Chicago-based theater company co-founded by Mikhael Tara Garver (C00), Jim Hornor (C00) and Kimberly Kelly (C00). Their production Enter Alice, a burlesque adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, ran in September and October 2004 at the Chopin Theatre. Hastings also assists the business side of the theater.

Frank F. Hsu (D00) of San Carlos, Calif., opened a dental office in June 2003 in San Carlos. He completed a two-year residency in 2000-02 at the University of California, San Francisco, in the advanced education in general dentistry program.

Susanne LeBlanc (WCAS00) of Minneapolis is a graphic designer, and her husband, Jeff Manuel (WCAS01), is earning a doctorate in American history at the University of Minnesota.

Beatrice Meyer-Parsons (GSESP00) of Fort Collins, Colo., is a graduate student in the School of Education at Colorado State University.

Tanya L. Pasternack (WCAS00) of BeerSheva, Israel, is a member of the Class of 2008 at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Faculty of Health Sciences Medical School for International Health, a collaboration with Columbia University Medical Center. From 2000 through 2002 she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras.

David S. Ruder (KSM00, L00) of Chicago, an attorney and businessman and chair and co-founder of River West Brands, was elected to the board of directors of the Museum of Broadcast Communications in August 2004. His area of expertise is intellectual property and trademark law.

Joseph Seliga (L00) of Chicago is an associate in the government practice group with the law firm Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw. His wife, Vanessa Vergara Seliga (L00), is an associate in the litigation group with the law firm Goldberg, Kohn, Bell, Black, Rosenbloom & Moritz.

Jennifer Armson (J01) of State College, Pa., assistant sports information director at Penn State University, received the Viggo O. Nelson National Communications Award from USA Volleyball for the 2003 Penn State media guide.

Randall J. Froeschle (WCAS01) of Chicago was named associate manager in the marketing analytics group at Kraft Foods in July 2004.

Michelle L. Greco (WCAS01) of Chicago was promoted to associate portfolio manager at Northern Trust in July 2004. She is an investment manager in the personal trust division and a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute.

Brendan L. Keane (McC01) of Chicago was promoted to project manager at Bulley & Andrews, where he is responsible for setup and mobilization of projects, awarding contracts, maintaining the project schedule and budget, and other duties.

Kathryn Bromley Sanderson (WCAS01) of Chicago graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in May 2004.

Neil K. Scharnick (GC01) of Cedarburg, Wis., is a visiting assistant professor for 2004-05 on the theater faculty at Carthage College in Kenosha.

Akiko Takamatsu (Mu01) of Kawaguchi, Saitama, Japan, is a piano instruction coordinator at the Christian Academy in Japan.

Michael Vea (SESP01) of New York City teaches fifth grade at Public School 128 in Washington Heights as part of Teach For America. He was featured in G.I.V.E. Get Involved. Volunteer. Exceed., a national Ralph Lauren Polo Jeans Co. advertising campaign to encourage volunteerism.

Briana Wilson (WCAS01) of Bethesda, Md., is pursuing a master's degree in international affairs at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. She spent the past two years working on the international campaign to ban landmines for Human Rights Watch.

Cleo E. Burtley (J02) of Chicago is a client services manager at Sg2, a health care intelligence and consulting firm in Evanston.

Margaret Tyler Foster (Mu02) of Duluth, Ga., teaches music at the Wesleyan School.

Jessica Ray Herzogenrath (WCAS02) of Houston is earning a doctorate in history at Rice University. She continues to perform as a member of Exclamation Dance Company.

James Lutz (KSM02) of New York City founded Vaya Adventures, a travel company that creates customized trips to South and Central America.

Mary Bridget Gurry (WCAS03) of Oxford, Ohio, received a Fulbright Fellowship to study education in Hungary from August 2004 to May 2005.

Ron Holsey (C03) of Myrtle Beach, S.C., had his one-act play The Fabulous Dr. Butterscotch performed at the Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art in September 2004. In June 2004 his play The Best Christmas Murder Ever was performed at Theatre Charlotte.

Michael Saxvik (WCAS03) of East Lansing, Mich., is pursuing a graduate degree in student affairs administration at Michigan State University.

Olga Spilewsky (GJ03) of New York City is associate producer at MSNBC in New Jersey.

Valerie C. Stark (SESP03) of Evanston began her master's degree in education at Northwestern in fall 2004.
