1940s Donald C. Brabston (KSM42) of Birmingham, Ala., was elected to the Alabama Business Hall of Fame in 2004. He served as managing partner of Ernst & Young's Birmingham office until retiring in 1979. William V. Jackson (WCAS45) of Park Ridge, Ill., senior fellow at Dominican University in River Forest and professor emeritus at the University of Texas at Austin, continues lecturing, advising and researching in Latin America . In 2003 he held discussions on Latin American collections at the British Library, the French National Library and the universities of Cambridge and Paris . He also participated in the Global Challenges and U.S. Higher Education conference at Duke University . Irwin Kremen (J46) of Durham, N.C., a psychology professor at Duke University, trained himself to be an artist at age 41. His exhibition, Irwin Kremen — Three in One: Collage Painting Sculpture, was on display at the ACA Galleries in New York City March 20 through April 10. He has had 30 solo exhibitions held at museums and contemporary art centers in the United States and abroad. Jean Hunter Stem (WCAS46) of Akron retired from teaching after 28 years in the Akron Public Schools. She has three daughters, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She published three books of poetry. Avis Jarrell Triplett (D46) of Charleston, W.Va., married Gary J. Triplett in 1998. She retired in 1991 after 24 years in private practice as a dentist and 14 years as a technical service representative for L.D. Caulk, a division of Dentsply. Manuel de la Torre (EB48) of Milwaukee, a golf professional at the Milwaukee Country Club for more than 30 years, conducts seminars for golf course professionals. In December 2003 he released the DVD Understanding the Golf Swing (Warde, 2003), which followed his 2001 book of the same title. Pauline “Jan” Hensley Huggler (D48) of Seminole, Okla., received the Outstanding Influencer Award from her grandson's alma mater, Northwood University in Cedar Hill, Texas, in recognition of her outstanding contribution in influencing his life. Paul Taff (GC48) of Glastonbury, Conn., is president of the Connecticut Broadcasters Association. Louise Evans (WCAS49) of Los Angeles, diplomate in clinical psychology, was twice honored by the International Council of Psychologists at its 61st annual convention in Toronto in August 2003. She was honored with an appointment as ICP Ambassador for Life and awarded a certificate in recognition of her leadership and commitment.
