2000s

Manu Bhardwaj (WCAS00) of Ann Arbor, Mich., is in his third year at the University of Michigan Law School. He is a member of the Law Review who will graduate in December. During the summer he was an associate at the Washington, D.C., law firm Covington and Burling and a law clerk for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund.

Margaret Bupp (J00) of Washington, D.C., is an attorney in the office of the general counsel at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission in Rockville, Md. She graduated cum laude from the George Washington University Law School in May 2003.

Scott Curcio (J00) of Chicago, media and marketing manager at Chicago Special Events Management, promotes some of the city's largest neighborhood festivals and runs and walks. In October 2003 he completed his first marathon, raising money for the American Liver Foundation's Illinois chapter. He is currently training for his second marathon.

John G. Horn (G00) of Buffalo, an associate at the law firm of Harter, Secrest & Emery, received the Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year Award in January from the New York State Bar Association. He specializes in commercial litigation, product liability, employment discrimination, personal injury and patent and trademark infringement.

Gregory Lipper (WCAS00) of Columbus, Ohio, is a law clerk for Judge R. Guy Cole Jr. at the U.S. Court of Appeals Sixth Circuit. In June 2003 he graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School and was a member of the Harvard Law Review. He was an oralist on the winning team in the Ames Moot Court Competition.

Aaron Markworth (McC00) of Mountain View, Calif., is a project engineer at Kyphon. Previously he was the lead project engineer on the cervical spine implant system for Stryker Corp. He received a U.S. patent and has two patents pending for the design of the implants and surgical instruments.

Michael Tadin (D00) of Chicago is a public health clinical dentist at Heartland Spang Center for Oral Health, serving Chicago 's HIV-infected and homeless population.

Carrie Perll Von Hoff (WCAS00) of Evanston is an associate at the law firm of O'Hagan, Smith & Amundsen. She earned her law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School in May 2003.

Matthew Yale (WCAS00) of Chicago is director of public affairs for Ariel Capital Management, a mutual fund and investment management company. He is also enrolled in the Kellogg School of Management.

Vidya Battu (McC01) of Atlanta is a first-year law student at the Emory University School of Law in Altlanta.

Rey Bosita (KSM01) of Plano, Texas, is a spine surgeon at Texas Back Institute. He and his wife, Judy, moved to Dallas in 2002 and are enjoying Texas life.

Keith Bough (GMcC01, KSM01) of San Francisco joined Archstone Consulting as a manager in October 2003.

Erica Donerson (J01) of Saginaw, Mich., is a news anchor and reporter at WNEM-TV 5 in Saginaw . She anchors the weekend morning news and reports during the week.

Mollie McGraw (J01) of Waco, Texas, is a student at Baylor Law School . She plans to graduate in 2006.

Jacob Romelhardt (WCAS01) of Boston begins his third year of law school at Boston University in the fall and will serve as the managing editor of the Boston University Law Review. He spent the past summer as an associate at Sidley, Austin, Brown & Wood in Chicago .

Jeremy A. Ross (GJ01) of Lansing, Mich., a general assignment education reporter for WILX-TV NBC 10 in Lansing, earned first place in the breaking news category from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters in March.

Benjamin Schindler (WCAS01) of Philadelphia completed his first year of law school at Temple University in Philadelphia .

Jennifer R. Smith (SESP01) of Dearborn, Mich., is a prevention counselor with HIV positive individuals at Community Health Awareness Group in Detroit and a psychotherapist at the Family Center for Psychological Services in Bloomfield Hills. She earned a master's degree in social work from the University of Michigan in December 2003.

Ellica P. Church (J02) of High Point, N.C., is a general assignment reporter in the News and Record's main office in Greensboro . Previously she was a neighborhood reporter in the paper's High Point bureau beginning in July 2002.

Kate DeVivo (GJ02) of Wilmette, Ill., was named executive editor of Today's Chicago Woman in February. She leads the editorial staff in producing the monthly publication, web site and e-newsletter, TCWMore.

Cody Keenan (WCAS02) of Washington, D.C., was promoted in May to assistant to the staff director of the Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions for U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, the committee's ranking member.

Stephanie Kuenn (GJ02) of Chicago was named managing editor of Today's Chicago Woman in February. She oversees the day-to-day operations of the monthly magazine. She previously was a web and copy editor at Calco Advertising.

Sanders Litwin (GC02) of Des Plaines, Ill., became a district adjudications officer with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services district office in Milwaukee in November 2003.

Michelle A. Madigan (J02, GJ03) of New York City is a production associate at NBC's Today Show, where she runs scripts and sets up the show's rundown.

Chasda Martin (SESP02) of Chicago started in the University of Chicago 's Graduate School of Social Service Administration in September 2003. This fall he is interning as a school social worker at Kenwood Academy in Chicago .

Lisa Smith Parro (GJ02) of Batavia, Ill., is a staff reporter for the Daily Herald . She and her husband, David, live in Batavia .

Alison Graham Stewart (GJ02) of Ogden, Utah, an editor and freelance journalist, created the Consumer Health Journal, which includes a health wire service for the media and a monthly journal providing in-depth health information for consumers.

Marielle Stone (WCAS02) of Bethlehem, Pa., was awarded a Neurology Summer Fellowship from the Jefferson Medical College Department of Neurology for summer 2004. In June she completed her first year of medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia .

Timothy Barrett (J03, Nav03) of Clifton, Va., an assistant intelligence officer with the U.S. Navy's USS Wasp Expeditionary Strike Group, was deployed to the Middle East from February through late summer this year.

Jeffrey D. Gaunt (J03) of Streamwood, Ill., is a reporter for the Daily Herald in Elgin .

Seth Hines (WCAS03) of Ithaca, N.Y., started a two-year master's degree program in industrial labor relations at Cornell University .

Alisha Hudson (WCAS03) of Chicago is a clinical research associate at Abelson-Taylor.

Nicholas E. Johnson (C03) of Dublin, Ireland, was named a 2004–05 George J. Mitchell Scholar and will pursue a master's degree in drama at Trinity College in Dublin . He previously studied Bertolt Brecht's work in Berlin, having received a fellowship from the German Academic Exchange Service.

Krista Yorita (WCAS03) of Atlanta received an Oak Ridge Institute of Science Education fellowship through which she earned a position in the National Center for Infectious Disease at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She is pursuing a master's of public health degree at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University .
