Nicole Tricoukes: Totally Radical

Nicole Tricoukes (GJ02), senior maverick at Motorola Solutions, develops and markets new technology products, most recently the HC1, a “wearable computer.” The headset computer, designed for the defense, utilities, telecommunications, construction, aerospace and aviation industries, gives users the equivalent of a 15-inch laptop view, complete with voice and head gesture control, so it can be used without lifting a finger. Tricoukes, the driving force behind the HC1, worked on the project for more than two years. The maverick title is fitting for Tricoukes, who studied marketing communications at Northwestern. Her career has taken her from management consulting with the Transportation Security Administration to guiding quality standards for the luxury jeweler Tiffany & Co. At Motorola she has worked in marketing, engineering and now advanced future innovations. “One of my passions is to inspire the next generation of geeks,” she says. “You need to be in the driver’s seat of your own future.”
