The Lutheran Student Movement-USA is "a national movement of
Lutheran college and university students striving to better
understand and advance the gospel of Jesus Christ through the
exploration of social and spiritual concerns." Though LSM is independent of Lutheran Campus Ministry and, indeed, of the Lutheran church bodies, campus ministries in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America regularly support the movement, help to recruit leadership for it, and encourage and even subsidize their students' participation in its events. These events typically are statewide and regional retreats and an annual national gathering held over the Christmas recess. University Lutheran Church at Northwestern attempts to support the Lutheran Student Movement in all of the ways just noted. In addition, it annually offers its building as the site for the LSM National Council's fall and spring meetings. To learn more about LSM-USA, visit its web page: www.lsm-usa.org. |
