Winter Break Closing 2012
The residence halls, residential colleges, and residential communities close at 12 noon on Saturday, December 15, 2012. All residents must vacate the building by this time.
As you leave, complete and sign the checklist on your door. Checklist items include: emptying and defrosting your fridge; taking out all garbage and perishable items, including food; removing all personal belongings from common areas; closing and locking your window(s); closing your curtains or blinds; unplugging everything; turning off all lights; vacuuming or sweeping your floor; cleaning your bathroom (where applicable); setting the heat on low (not off); taking all important and valuable items; locking your door and signing the checklist on your door.
Do not forget to bring your valuables, passport, tickets, medications, and other important items with you as you leave.
Quiet hours will run from 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012, to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012.

Residence hall staff will be completing safety checks in all rooms after residents depart. The City of Evanston will also complete safety checks during the break period.
If you are not returning to the residence halls next quarter, make sure to schedule an appointment with your CA to complete your Room Condition Inventory (RCI) and return your keys. You must completely move out of your room by 12:00 p.m. on December 15, 2012.
The residence halls reopen at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2013. Please plan your return trip accordingly, as residents will not be allowed back in the buildings before this time.
Mail and packages scheduled to be delivered to the residence halls between December 14, 2012, and January 7, 2013, are held by the US Postal Service and individual carriers. Held mail and packages will be delivered the first week of January.
