Spring Break Closing 2013
The residence halls, residential colleges, and residential communities close at 12 noon on Saturday, March 23, 2013. All residents must vacate the building by this time.
As you leave, complete and sign the checklist on your door. Checklist items include: emptying and defrosting your fridge (and leaving the fridge door open); taking out all garbage and perishable items, including food; removing all personal belongings from common areas (including suite & floor lounges); closing and locking your window(s); closing your curtains or blinds; unplugging everything; turning off all lights; setting the heat on low (not off); taking all important and valuable items; locking your door and signing the checklist on your door. Please note that if you are returning to your room for the Spring Quarter 2013, you do not need to remove all of your belongings from the room.
Refrigerators that are not defrosted will be defrosted by the staff. All items within the fridge will be disposed of.
Do not forget to bring your valuables, passport, tickets, medications, and other important items with you as you leave.
Residence hall staff will be completing safety checks in all rooms after residents depart. The City of Evanston will be also be completing follow up safety checks during the break period. If your room failed the city inspection during Winter Break, it will be reinspected.
24 hour quiet hours begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013, and end at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013.
If you are not returning to your current room next quarter, make sure to schedule an appointment with your CA to complete your Room Condition Inventory (RCI) and return your keys. You must completely move out of your room by 12:00 p.m. on March 23, 2013.
The residence halls reopen at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2013. Please plan your return trip accordingly, as residents will not be allowed back in the buildings before this time.
Mail and packages scheduled to be delivered to the residence halls between March 22, 2013, and March 31, 2013, are held by the US Postal Service and individual carriers. Held mail and packages will be delivered the first week of Spring Quarter.
