Mail and Package Centers

During the academic year, package center hours are as follows:

Foster-Walker Package Center 

  • 847-491-7441
  • Monday-Friday: 8:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Kemper Package Center

  • 847-467-5057
  • Monday-Friday: 11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

How the Mail and Package Centers Work

  1. Mail and packages arrive at the Foster-Walker package center and the mailroom staff organizes everything by building before distributing it.
    • Packages that arrive over the weekend will not be delivered to the Kemper Package Center until Monday morning. If you are usually serviced by the Kemper Package Center (visit the Address Chart to determine your package center), you may retrieve the package over the weekend at Foster-Walker.
  2. Students receive an email notification to pick up any items that don’t fit in mailboxes at their package center.
  3. Students must present their WildCARD to retrieve a package.

Addressing Mail to Campus

Check the Address Chart for your address. You can also view more information about your Residence Hall, Residential College, or Residential Community at the linked pages.

Mail to students should be addressed:

  • Student Name
  • Student’s Building & Room Number
  • Building Address
  • Evanston, IL 60201

How to Send Mail and Packages Off Campus

  • The mailroom does not accept packages to be shipped out or returned unless the package has a pre-paid shipping or return label. We do not sell any postage or shipping materials.
  • Outgoing, stamped mail may be slipped through the mail slot marked “US Mail” near any Residence Hall, Residential College, or Residential Community mailboxes.
  • There are three USPS locations in Evanston:
    • Evanston Main Office at 1101 Davis Street
    • Evanston North at 1929 Central Street
    • Evanston South at 701 Main Street
  • FedEx packages may be dropped off at Kinko’s located on the ground floor of Norris. Supplies and a scale are available to ship packages. For additional tracking and shipping information, visit the FedEx website. Customer service may be reached at 1-800-Go-FedEx (1-800-463-3339).
  • There is a UPS Store at 1555 Sherman Avenue (847-869-3000). They have supplies and materials available for shipping. Additional information may be found when you visit the UPS website. For customer service, you can call 1-800-PICK-UPS (1-800-742-5877).

Break Periods


  • Mail delivery will end on the Thursday of Spring Quarter’s finals week. All USPS First Class mail received by July 4th will be forwarded to the forwarding address listed in RMS. If no forwarding address is listed in RMS, mail will be sent to your permanent address listed in CAESAR. Any mail received after July 4th will be returned to sender.
  • First class mail does not include bulk mail, periodicals (newspapers, magazines, etc.) or items from private carriers (UPS, FedEx, etc.).
  • You can refer to the mail forwarding page for more details on providing updated address information.

Winter Break

  • Packages are logged and stored at the Foster-Walker package center. The Foster-Walker package center is open Monday-Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm during the break with the exception of University holidays (December 24, 25, and 31; January 1).
  • There are no mail deliveries over winter break. Students who are staying for the break can pick up their mail at the Foster-Walker package center.

Thanksgiving and Spring Break

  • Schedules will be published once they are available.
