Willard claims some of Northwestern’s most famous alums, such as Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Stephen Colbert. Having opened in 1938, it has a lot of history, as evidenced by custom woodwork and wrought iron, as well as rooms in many configurations. The Willard first-floor lounge, aka “the WFFL” (pronounced “waffle”), always has action in the kitchen or by the fireplace.
Willard Hall is home to Willard Residential College (first floor and above) and the Southwest Area Engagement Center (garden level), which includes a fitness room, collaboration space, and Fran’s Café. Even in cooler weather, the beautiful courtyard with fire pit and Adirondack chairs is a popular spot.
