Purple Posse
Overview of Position

Each spring Residential Services selects about 90 student volunteers to assist new students and their families during Wildcat Welcome move in day and returning residents on their move-in day. As a Purple Posse volunteer you will show residents and their families that you care! It is also a great way to promote the name of your favorite student group. To learn more about this opportunity, read the information below.
Selection Criteria
Qualified candidates must be able to:
- Lift and carry heavy items;
- Attend the mandatory Purple Posse Orientation meeting (Tuesday, June 4, 6-7 pm in McCormick Auditorium, Norris);
- Move into on-campus housing on Sunday, September 15 from 1-4 pm and attend a training program on Sunday, September 15 6-8:30 pm; and work several shifts on both move-in days (Monday, Sept. 16 and Friday, Sept. 20); and
- Must be in good conduct standing with Northwestern University
Note: Preference will be given to students living in University housing next fall.
Participation incentives
Volunteers will be permitted early admission into their University residence on the day before New Student Move-In. (Note, students living in fraternity or sorority houses will have to get permission from the designated chapter authorities to move-in early). All volunteers will receive a complimentary Purple Posse t-shirt. Students who complete all volunteer hours will have their University room fees waived for September 15-19.
