Salary and Benefits

Residence Director

The starting salary for the Residence Director position is $35,000.

RDs also receive a furnished one bedroom apartment. Many apartments have a washer and dryer in the unit. For the areas that do not, staff receive $500 per year that can be used to do laundry or purchase items from various convenience stores or food service locations on campus. 

All RD staff receive a meal plan to eat one meal per meal period (breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily) on campus while the dining halls are open.  RD staff are also reimbursed for the cost of one faculty/staff parking permit (if one is purchased).

Senior Assistant Director

Senior Assistant Directors receive a competitive salary based on experience.

Tuition Benefits

Northwestern offers staff reduced tuition at Northwestern, in addition to tuition assistance for tuition for other institutions.
