Mary Goldenberg is Director of Residential Life. Mary directs the graduate and undergraduate residential life programs and all functions related to this area including staff recruitment, selection and development, programming, community development and leadership development, crisis and emergency response, and residential student conduct. She works with 15 full-time professional and administrative staff, over 100 student staff members, and a variety of University constituencies to ensure the smooth operation of the residence halls, residential communities, and residential colleges.
Mary is a native New Yorker but received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and her Master’s degree from the University of Georgia. She is a member of the American College Personnel Association, the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, and the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International.

Cassie joined the Residence Life team as a Senior Assistant Director in the summer of 2013. She grew up outside of Dallas, Texas, and then went to Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, where she earned a Bachelor's in Psychology. That's where she first cultivated a passion for student affairs and decided to attend graduate school. She attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, where she earned a Master's in Educational Administration and Leadership with a specialization in Student Affairs. Cassie has also worked in Residence Life at California State University, Sacramento and Texas A&M University as a professional. She is excited to be at Northwestern and is always open to meeting new people. Feel free to stop by the office to chat!

Paul serves as a Senior Assistant Director after joining the team at Northwestern in August 2011. He supervises the Residence Director staff on South Campus and in Graduate Housing. He also coordinates professional staff training and development, along with operational functions. Originally from Michigan, Paul earned his B.S. from Central Michigan University and M.Ed. in College Student Affairs Leadership from Grand Valley State University. He has previous professional experience working in residence life at Valparaiso University, Northern Illinois University, and Illinois Institute of Technology. He has been actively involved in the Great Lakes Association of College and University Housing Officers for 13 years and serves as a committee chair on the Board of Directors. Paul is also a student in Northwestern's Learning & Organizational Change masters degree program.
Tiffany Gonzales

Tiffany Gonzales is currently an Assistant Director working primarily with student staff selection, training and development. In addition to that, Tiffany is also an Ally and Safe Space training facilitator. Originally from the Chicago area, she received her B.A. in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Media, and her M.S.Ed.in Higher Education Administration, both from Northern Illinois University. Tiffany previously served as an Area Coordinator for three years in the Foster-Walker Complex. Before coming to NU, she was a Residence Hall Director at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Her favorite parts about Northwestern include working with the dedicated student leaders, and the opportunities for involvement for both students and staff.

Danielle Burke currently serves as the J1F Residence Director. Danielle was born and raised in South Carolina. Danielle did her undergraduate work at the College of Charleston, where she obtained her B.S. in Psychology. She went on to attend Vanderbilt University for her M.Ed in Higher Education Administration.
Prior to joining the Northwestern team, Danielle worked as a Resident Director at Concordia University Chicago in River Forest, where in addition to Residence Life she also worked closely with Academic Services and Athletics.

Janelle serves as the Residence Director for Willard and the Small Houses, more commonly known as the WASH area. Prior to becoming a Wildcat, she received her B.S. in Psychology from Ball State University and more recently, completed her M.S. in College Student Personnel Administration at Illinois State University. While at ISU, she held an assistantship as the Coordinator of Residential Life at Lincoln College–Normal. With previous professional Residence Director experience at Washington State University, Janelle is very excited to settle down at Northwestern and in the greater Chicagoland area.

Derek Murakami joined the Residential Services team in July 2013, and currently serves as the Residence Director for SHARC. Born and raised in Southern California, Derek moved to Colorado to earn both his B.A. in Social Work and M.S. in Student Affairs in Higher Education at Colorado State University. Prior to Northwestern, Derek had three years of professional experience serving as a Resident Director at Western Washington University. He is excited for the opportunity to work with the students and other staff and faculty here at Northwestern University and is excited to meet new people!

Kristina graduated with Bachelors of Arts and Masters in Higher Education degrees from Loyola University Chicago. She has previously worked at Holy Cross College in South Bend, Indiana, for two years as the Hall Director/Activities Coordinator and four years at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville (UPT) as the Director of Residential Life/Director of Judicial Affairs. Kristina has worked at Northwestern University since 2003 as an Area Coordinator (AC). She previously supervised many undergraduate buildings including Slivka, ACCI, CCS, Lindgren, Goodrich, Foster House, Shepard, Jones, 1835 Hinman, Transfer/GREEN house and Sargent. Kristina has a breadth of expertise that covers a wide area of responsibilities. She is excited to begin her new position as Residence Director (RD) for graduate housing (Seabury-Garrett, McManus and Engelhart). Kristina has received training as a Safe Space Ally and a Transgender Ally from Northwestern. She has additional training as a meditator from both Northwestern and the Association for Student Conduct Administration (ASCA).

Dan Amato currently serves as the Residence Director for the Foster-Walker Complex and Seabury Undergraduate Housing. He was born and raised in the Chicagoland area as a northsider. Dan completed his undergraduate studies at DePaul University in Biological Sciences before moving on to Eastern Illinois University, where he obtained his Master’s in Student Affairs. In his time at EIU, Dan served in an assistantship as an Associate Residence Director. Dan enjoys spending free time with friends and family. He is an avid watcher and player of sports whenever he has the chance and enjoys sharing his love for the city of Chicago and all it has to offer with the people he meets every day. He is very excited to be a Wildcat and to work with the amazing students and staff at NU!

Jillian joined the Residential Services team in July 2013, and currently serves as the Residence Director for the Bobb-McCulloch community and 2303 Sheridan. Born and raised in Southern California, Jillian attended Azusa Pacific University, where she received her B.A. in Journalism. She moved to the Midwest in 2011 to attend Indiana University Bloomington, where she received her M.S.Ed in Higher Education and Student Affairs. While at IU, Jillian served as a Graduate Supervisor in Residential Programs and Services, and worked closely with the Office of First Year Experience Programs. Her areas of interest include mental health, new student orientation, and transfer students. Jillian and her husband Danny love the Dodgers, college football, and their cat Amelie.

Jenny serves as the Residence Director of GLASS and is happy to be a Wildcat! After growing up in the southwest suburbs, she earned her B.A. in Psychology from Illinois Wesleyan University before going on to earn her M.S. in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University. Jenny worked as a Residence Life Coordinator at Elmhurst College prior to starting at Northwestern in July 2013.

Dan is originally from Wisconsin and received his B.S. in Natural Science with an emphasis in Earth Science from the University ofWisconsin-Stevens Point. He received his M.S. in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Missouri State University. Previously, while Dan was working on his Masters, he served as an Assistant Hall Director at Missouri State University. His areas of interest include making living on campus and inclusive and fun environment, social justice issues, and working with engaged student leaders.

Emily graduated from Kenyon College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages and Literature. She currently serves as an Administrative Assistant for the Residential Services team after joining Northwestern University in July 2013. Originally from the Philadelphia area, Emily moved to Chicago to serve for a year as an AmeriCorps Scholar Coach for the Schuler Scholar Program. In her free time, she enjoys reading, crafting, and exploring new places.
Joei Allen

Josephine (Joei) Allen joined Northwestern University as a Payroll Clerk in November of 2000. After 5 years of service, she accepted a position at Northwestern’s School of Law on the Chicago Campus, where she worked as an administrative assistant to several Law School professors for the next 2 ½ years. A native of Miami, Florida, Joei and her family decided to move to Florida in the summer of 2007. After much consideration, Joei returned to Chicago in the fallof 2010, when she also returned to Northwestern University.
Joei is currently working as an Administrative Assistant 3 in Residential Services. In her position, she is appointed treasurer for the URL Programming Social and Maintenance Accounts, processes reimbursements and payment requests on behalf of students and staff, and assists student organizations with planning and processing of contracts for quarterly formals. Additionally, Joei offers administrative assistance to faculty and staff within Residential Services.
In her free time, Joei enjoys traveling, participating in both indoor and outdoor sports, spending time with friends and family, and spoiling her cat Finley.
