Housing
Introduction to Our Housing Services
Students at Northwestern are fortunate to have a wide variety of housing facilities available to them. Smaller undergraduate residences accommodate as few as 26 students; larger units house more than 600. Most rooms are doubles, but residences also contain single, triple, and suite arrangements. Students may select a residential college, a coeducational residence hall, or a facility where all members are of the same sex. Some of the houses are older, ivy-covered residences; others are modern, recently built halls. Each building has its own character and spirit, and its own distinct advantages.
The Undergraduate Housing Office:
- makes housing assignments for incoming, returning, and transfer students.
- administers the residence and board contracts.
- initiates billing for all room and board charges, and resolves discrepancies.
- facilitates and implements room changes.
