METHODS IN LAW AND SOC SCI
Course Number: 01155- -01 Rose 3-2 Units
This
course will overview the variety of research methods used
in conducting empirical research in law and social science.
I intend the course to be run largely in "workshop" format
in which students learn from a combination of short lecture,
class discussion, as well as individual or group opportunities
to work through how a particular research question might
be formulated and what a sound research design would look
like. This course is offered under the Law and Social
Sciences certificate program.

Elements
used in grading: Four short (6-8 page) papers, class attendance
and participation, and brief assignments. Course is offered
at the law school for variable (2 or 3) units. Those electing
to take the course for three units will also write a long
paper (15-20 pages) due at the end of the term.
