Become a Mentor for Connections for the Homeless

Overview

If you’re looking for something to do this summer and during the next school year, look no further.
Connections for the Homeless is a social service agency that offers specialized services for individuals and families who are experiencing or have experienced homelessness in the Evanston and Skokie areas.
We are looking for some civic-minded and responsible individuals who love kids and are willing to partner up with them for an extended period of time (at least a year, if not more!). We will assign you to a child based on your preferences, characteristics, and availability. Hours are flexible, and we can work around your schedule.

We are Looking for Volunteers who Can

• Spend a few hours a week just hanging out with some very cool kids
o At least 3 hours per week in the summer
o At least 2 hours per week during the school year
• Occasionally offer homework help
• Accompany them on fun Connections-sponsored activities
• Plan your own activities
• Be a good role model
o Demonstrate leadership skills
o Provide guidance
o Promote individual growth and healthy social behaviors
• Give back to your community
We can give you service hours! We can write glowing recommendations for your college or job applications!
