Berdakin Family Latino/a Emerging Leader Scholarship

The Berdakin Family Foundation was started by Dr. Daniel Berdakin and his wife Susanna Berdakin to help enrich the lives of children through the support of educational programs and financial aid assistance for students. The Foundation was established in December 2005. It is registered in California as 501.3(C) and as such retains tax exempt status. Though the initial endowment consists entirely of monies donated by the Berdakin family, the family accepts charitable donations to add to its already sizeable endowments.

The Latino Emerging Leaders Scholarship is awarded to help provide one deserving Latino Freshman with the financial resources needed to attend Northwestern University.  Eligible applicants should reflect active involvement in the Latino community, including community service activities and plan to continue his/her contribution to the Latino community in the future.
